Job Title: Patient Account Representative
Location: Smyrna, GA (Fully Onsite)
Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patient Account Representative to join our team at a busy physician's office in Smyrna, GA. The ideal candidate should be customer service-oriented, organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Answer patient inquiries regarding their accounts
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Submit and track insurance claims
- Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and patient balances
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Process patient payments and adjustments
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth patient billing processes
- Work with insurance companies to ensure timely payments
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare billing and collections, preferably in a physician's office or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical billing codes, terminology, and insurance regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness
