Patient Account Specialist Senior - BitCare

The Patient Account Specialist Senior provides medical collection services for TLRA collection units, leveraging a strong background in medical collections to effectively resolve accounts placed for collection. This role involves conducting follow-up and account resolution activities, including communication with patients, clients, reimbursement vendors, and other external entities, while adhering to all client, state, and federal guidelines. Ensuring patient and client satisfaction is paramount. Specialists are expected to have a comprehensive understanding of the overall collection processes for both active accounts receivable (AR) and bad debt (BD) inventory.

Major Job Responsibilities:

• Provide effective collection services, ensuring successful recovery of accounts in accordance with client and state guidelines, as well as TLRA’s business objectives.
• Document and update patient account information in TLRA’s collection software system accurately and promptly, including appropriate account status.
• Handle inbound patient and/or carrier calls professionally, providing assistance and resolution for account inquiries, issues, and requests.
• Utilize collection tools effectively to ensure quality recovery services and meet or exceed established goals and work standards.
• Perform research and analysis of account issues, striving to resolve problems timely and accurately.
• Ensure daily productivity standards are met consistently.
• Promote positive patient relations by communicating respectfully and demonstrating regard for the human dignity of patients and their families.
• Participate in special projects as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in medical collections is preferred.
• Strong understanding of collection processes, particularly in healthcare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using collection software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
