Summary:
The Patient Account Specialist Senior will leverage a strong background as a medical collection specialist to effectively resolve accounts placed with TLRA for collection. This role involves performing collection activities related to follow-up and account resolution, requiring communication with patients, clients, reimbursement vendors, and other external entities while adhering to all client, state, and federal guidelines. Patient and client satisfaction is essential, and associates in the collection units are expected to understand the overall collection processes for both active accounts receivable (AR) and bad debt (BD) inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Provide effective collection services to ensure successful recovery of accounts in accordance with client and state guidelines, as well as TLRA’s business objectives.
- Document and update patient account information in TLRA’s collection software system timely and accurately, including appropriate account status.
- Handle inbound and outbound communications with patients and clients to resolve account inquiries and issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support the collection process and improve patient satisfaction.
- Maintain knowledge of collection work processes for both active AR and BD inventory to maximize recovery efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant client, state, and federal regulations throughout the collection process.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a medical collection specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficient in using collection software and Microsoft Office Suite.
