Job Summary:
The Patient Account Specialist Senior will provide medical collection services for TLRA collection units, leveraging a strong background in medical collections to effectively resolve accounts. This role involves performing collection activities related to follow-up and account resolution, requiring communication with patients, clients, reimbursement vendors, and other external entities while adhering to all client, state, and federal guidelines. Patient and client satisfaction is paramount.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Ensure successful recovery of accounts in accordance with client and state guidelines, aligning with TLRA’s business objectives.
- Document and update patient account information in TLRA’s collection software system in a timely and accurate manner, including appropriate account status.
- Handle inbound patient and carrier calls promptly and professionally, providing assistance and resolution to inquiries, issues, and requests.
- Utilize collection tools effectively to deliver quality recovery services, meeting or exceeding established goals and work standards.
- Conduct research and analysis of account issues, striving for timely and accurate resolutions.
- Ensure daily productivity standards are met.
- Promote positive patient relations through respectful and effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in medical collections, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of overall collection work processes for active Accounts Receivable (AR) and Bad Debt (BD) inventory.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Proficient in using collection software and tools.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
