Patient Account Specialist - Ophthalmology LTD

Ophthalmology LTD delivers treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, as well as cornea transplants, oculoplastic surgery, retina surgery, vitreoretinal surgery, and pediatric eye care in Sioux Falls.

We have an opening in our business office for a Patient Account Specialist! The patient account specialist is responsible for providing billing assistance and general support to the business office. This includes verifying insurance coverage and network status for new patients and referrals, as well as update information for existing patients. Collection of payments from patients, and resolving any discrepancies that may occur during the payment process.

Full-time position, 40 hours/weekly, the schedule may vary between 8:00 am and 5 pm, Monday - Friday.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer post-secondary education courses in accounting and business.
Minimum 2 years medical billing experience in physician office setting or equivalent with knowledge of various medical payer practices and insurance laws/guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, Work Comp, VA, and other third-party payers). Demonstrate good working knowledge of claims submission and standard medical billing processes.
Strong customer service and computer experience
