Patient Care Assistant

Provides low tolerance Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy to patients on an inpatient basis. Therehabilitation specialists treat medically complex patients including: ventilator dependent, orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac, neuromuscular, wound care, and organ transplant patients. The goal is to restore movement, functional abilities, speech and swallow function, and to promote a greater independence and bridge the gap between critical care and home.

Job Description
The role of a Patient Care Assistant (PCA/Sitter) is to provide direct patient care services under the supervision of the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse according to the philosophy, policies and procedures of the department of nursing. The PCA works in a wide variety of settings including: hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities to maintain and support activities of daily living of patients and residents.
Requirements

• 6 months of PCA/Sitter experience within the past 3 years in similar setting
• OH State Registry
• BLS or CPR certification
