Job Summary:
The Patient Care Assistant is responsible for the client’s personal care needs and surroundings and may supply temporary relief (respite) for the client's primary caregiver. The Patient Care Assistant also may be referred Personal Support Aide. Must be able to work weekends Saturday and Sunday
Qualifications:
Experience as Patient Care Assistant 1-2 years experience.
Experience as Patient Care Assistant 1-2 years experience.
Performance Requirements:
- Must have no restriction on transferring clients.
- Must possess patience and tact in working with sick, elderly or disabled clients.
- Work under close supervision of agency staff and cooperated with the staff from other agencies involved and the client’s family.
- Must maintain current, TB, CPR, and First Aid Certification Pass a Background Check. Must have reliable transportation and a working contract telephone number.
Job Functions:
The Patient Care Assistance will follow the care plan established for the individual client. The care plan includes any or all of the following:
- Assisting with Activities (ADLs) including, meal preparation, and assistance with eating.
- Assisting with bathing, showers, dressing, grooming, and toileting ambulating and transferring from bed to chair or other locations.
- Routine housekeeping including laundry, changing the bed linens, dusting, washing dishes, light vacuuming, and other light household duties.
- Running errands as necessary as directed by the Supervisor
- Serving as a companion to the client and providing temporary relief to the client/caregiver
- Providing specialized client care as instructed by supervisor and evidenced by documentation of training.
- Serving as a liaison between the client and Agency including submitting documentation of service providing, vital signs taken (when required) and progress made and verbal communication of the client’s condition needs.
