The Patient Care Attendant works under the direct supervision of the RN/LPN and will be expected to assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), help with meal time/hydration, keep resident rooms and center clean and organized and complete related tasks as assigned
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep resident rooms tidy and sanitized
- Obtain vital signs and document
- Assist resident with everyday needs (personal hygiene, using the restroom, grooming etc.)
- Transfers (only residents requiring one-person assistance)
- Communicate professionally with residents, their family members, the resident’s physician, pharmacy, and staff. Refer residents or their families to the Nurse as needed.
- Bring residents down to meals or assure they are notified of the times of meals.
- Communicate immediately any changes in a resident to the Nurse/Administrator.
- Pass out hydration and snacks at the appropriate times.
- Check on residents per their individual assignments.
- Immediately report to Nurse/Administrator any incidents that happen.
- Answer all call lights regardless of assignment.
- ADL Documentation to detail the care given for residents.
- Make beds – occupied and unoccupied.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Satisfactory completion of teaching and supervised training in the Center.
- On-the-job training including working under the direct supervision of nursing staff and in collaboration with the Certified Nursing Assistants to provide ADL services to the residents.
- Must be able to work weekend and overtime as required.
