Patient Care Specialist - Leon Medical Centers

We are actively seeking a dedicated and highly organized Patient Care Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this critical role you will be responsible for processing medical equipment orders ensuring precise and efficient delivery to our patients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs initial processing of all orders including, but not limited to Ambulatory, Bathroom Aides, Hospital Beds, Standard Wheelchairs, Cpap/Bipap, Trach/Suction setup, Oximetry, Ostomy and Motorized/Customized Wheelchairs Orders.
2. Reviews patient demographics, verify eligibility and/or authorization.
3. Learns and implements Medicare guidelines.
4. Maintains compliance with HIPAA standards of patient and confidentiality.
5. Provides telephonic support to patient inquires/services calls.
6. Handles New Patient Transitions and ensures that equipment is properly transitioned.
7. Works with Dispatch on ETA Calls.
8. Follows through an order from beginning to end. Provides Physician and patient with updates as needed.
9. Handles complaint calls and facilitates solutions for patients and providers.
10. Follows equipment recovery processes if and when a patient needs a pick-up of equipment, or a patient cannot be located.
11. Rotates On-Call for a week including Saturday rotation.
12. Rotates Holidays as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Medical Background knowledge preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2 years DME experience

EDUCATION

At minimum High School Diploma or GED. Graduate Degree preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in English and Spanish required.
