Perform delegated duties related to the comfort and personal needs of the patients with consideration of their developmental needs.These activities may include ADL(s), EKGS, Finger Sticks, Foley (insertion/care/removal), sterile technique, IV care, nutritional support, patient mobility, vital signs, changing beds, replenishing room supplies and assisting healthcare team with specific treatments and/or procedures.
Communicate with patients, families, and Nursing staff and demonstrate excellent interpersonalskills.
Reads and interprets equipment readings, in conjunction with patient information.
Knowledgeable of operating parameters of patient care equipment.
Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, radiation and pharmacological agents.
Work requires standing and/or walking for extended periods of time.
Work requires lifting and/or positioning patients and transporting wheelchairs, beds and related equipment.
Work requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform delegated patient care procedures.
Work may require contact with aggressive and/or combative patients.
Employees in this position will be required to adhere to work availability and unit scheduling requirements.
Qualifications:- High School Diploma/ Equivalent
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR
- Active Maryland CNA License
- A total of one year of Patient Care Tech experience in inpatient Hospital setting over the last three years
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, basic wound care, patient safety, and patient transport techniques.
