- Perform personal care and clinical procedures within appropriate standards of care
- Effectively communicate patient needs to the Registered Nurse and reports changes in status in a timely manner
- Accurately and legibly document relevant data in the medical record according to hospital standards to minimize communication/treatment errors
- Complete and submit occurrence reports in a timely manner according to health center policy
- Adhere to infection control policies, as evidenced by application of universal standards, knowledge of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and use of the same in practice and proper notification procedures for real or potential exposures
- Understand the national Patient Safety Goals. Can locate resources and speak to their role regarding goals
- Understand department and hospital performance improvement activities
- Prioritize and organize multiple task. Assist others as time permits.
- Complete all procedures/tasks scheduled during the work shift without sacrificing quality of work
- Report any incomplete assignments/procedures to appropriate personnel to ensure continuity of care
- Respond to department staffing needs
- Assist all patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and employees in a friendly manner
- Attempt to resolve complaints/questions through personal action or referral to appropriate authority. If unable to assist an individual, find someone who can.
- Share knowledge and skills with colleagues and others
- Demonstrate willingness to offer assistance before being asked
Job Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Enrolled in a Nursing School program or Graduate Nurse who has failed his/her license examination OR have CNA license.
- Basic Life Support certification
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Prior work experience in a comparable health care setting
