About the Job
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) provides direct, basic patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse or LPN, handling the care and cleaning of patient rooms/area and specific equipment, and the inventorying, ordering, and stocking of designated instruments, equipment, and supplies. PCTs assist with transportation of patients and supplies, and their day can vary from patient assessments, using IV skills, EKG, and giving Meds, feeding, bathing and toileting, to utilizing Combative Patient skills training, crisis management and intervention techniques.

PCTs are additionally responsible for documenting the patient care process and work as part of a team communicating with and assisting the nurse, doctors and physician’s assistants in support of CKHS’ mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner.

Requirements:
- Eligible PCT candidates must have a high school diploma and current licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or Attending a nursing program and at a minimum actively participating in their first semester of clinical. (Junior/Senior year student of a four-year baccalaureate nursing program or completion of one full year of a two-year nursing associate degree program
- 2 years patient care experience preferred. Phlebotomy and/or experience in a hospital setting also preferred.
- Mandated and Permissive Reporter training
