About the Job

· Collaborates within the Emergency Department team to deliver safe and efficient patient care.
· In performing all duties and responsibilities, serves as a model for service excellence and patient satisfaction in the Emergency Department.
· Assists in triage as delegated by RN; (EKG, blood draws, vital signs)
· Performs patient transfers/transports as needed or requested.
· Performs customer service initiatives such as purposeful rounding, responding to patient call lights, and providing for patient needs as delegated by the RN.
· As delegated by the RN, performs application of splints, EKGs, venipuncture, fluid intake and output (I&O), documentation of vital signs, and documentation
· Demonstrates excellent communication and feedback skills with the professional registered nurse on delegated tasks.

· Cleans stretchers and patient rooms in compliance with infection control standards
· Reports occurrences promptly and fully, and according to risk management guidelines.
· Maintains quality assurance standards according to regulatory guideline of DNV, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and/or other applicable agencies.
· Adheres to sterile technique standards, universal precautions related to safe handling of hazardous wastes, and body substance precautions.
· Performs all Emergency Department approved Point of Care testing as competent .
· Performs additional duties as required or assigned.
· Assists in patient care and ADL's as needed
Current North Carolina licensure as a CNA 1. At least one (1) year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
· CuCurrent American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtains within 30 days of employment
· Successful completion of an accredited Phlebotomy course or the FirstHealth Moore in-house training program obtained within 2 months of employment
