Job Title: Patient Care Technician

Job Location: Rancho Mirage, CA

Job Duration: 3+ Months Contract (Temp-to-hire)

Pay range – $20 - $25/hr. on W2

Position Summary:

· Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

· Following standard work, assists patients to exam/procedure rooms; obtains patient reported medical and social history, vital signs and height and weight, as needed, patient reported allergy information and medication reconciliation information and records data in EHR.

· Transcribes orders into the HER, such as films, x-ray, labs, and other studies as appropriate, timely and accurately.

· Processes patient referrals to other provider offices.

· Prepares patient EMR charts timely and accurately.

· Gathers reports, labs, studies, or other data pertinent to upcoming patient appointments.

· Faxes and copies necessary information to insurance companies, other provider offices and other facilities, as necessary.

· Records information accurately and timely in the EHR.

· Takes phone messages.

· Prepares charts for clinic.

· Works in-basket messages and work queues.

· Maximizes use of free time between preparing patients and other tasks to clean and stock rooms, copy documents, and filing.

· Obtains provider or patient signatures on appropriate documents.

· Assists with medical and office supply inventory and ordering.

· Follows the identified dress code and safety protocols to ensure patient and employee safety.

· Maintains and practices professional boundaries with all patient and co-worker interactions.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

2. Requires effective communication skills in dealing with patients, families, and co-workers.
