What You Will Do
As a Patient Intake Coordinator, you will be responsible interacting with patients, outside providers, and the public in person and via mail, telephone, email, and fax, providing registration and informational services and triaging requests as needed.
The Opportunity
Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments. Mail new patient packets, obtain demographic information, request medical records, and verify insurance information.
Conduct eligibility and verification of benefits for all scheduled patients prior to appointments.
Obtain referrals as needed based upon eligibility and third party guidance provided in findings.
Search for, set-up, and maintain third party website access to perform eligibility and verification functions. Copy and paste all
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly manner upon arrival to clinic and notify staff members of arrivals as appropriate.
Guide patients in completing the registration process upon arrival. Check them in and out of clinic and ensure that materials related to insurance, contact information, and release/acknowledgement forms are on file and up-to-date.
Record and verify outstanding patient balances.
Address incoming phone calls, faxes, and emails.
Run EDS (Medicaid) eligibility daily on all patients.
Prepare daily schedule and profiles used by the clinic for the next day’s business.
If assigned the role of Team Leader, fulfill extra responsibilities in addition to regular job duties including providing staff training and ensuring
IHTC provider schedules are up-to-date to provide adequate clinic coverage

- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of related experience
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance is required.
