About the Intake Coordinator position
Intake Coordinator position in a fast-paced, high patient-volume rehabilitation clinic. You will be tasked with maintaining accurate patient demographics and insurance information along with obtaining insurance verification and benefit information. You will need to be team player as you will be in constant communication with therapists, billing and front desk staff. Flexibility, multi-tasking and organizational skills, computer knowledge and previous medical office experience preferred.
We expect you to be computer-savvy and an efficient typist with a keen eye for detail. You will, at all times, be respectful and compliant with patient privacy and HIPAA laws.
Intake Coordinator responsibilities are:
- Review and verify new patient information prior to initial evaluation
- Track digital intakes as patients complete them and send reminders to complete
- Call insurance companies for patient benefits/prior auth requirements prior to initial evaluation
- Input and maintain accurate and organized information electronically in patient's charts
- Help gather and provide the clinic with the necessary documentation and information to bill patients, facilities, workers compensation, etc
- Process medical records requests as necessary
- Be in close communication with Billing and Front Desk staff to improve upon the efficiencies required of the clinic
- Will assist with additional job duties as assigned by management
Intake Coordinator requirements are:

College degree highly recommended, but not required
Previous medical office experience preferred
Compassionate, respectful and clear communication skills are necessary to effectively communicate with the patients, co-workers, and referral sources

Good knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices

Detail oriented
Organizational and time management skills

Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
