Kay Responsibilities - Pavement Design
- Conduct thorough pavement assessments and provide solutions
- Prepare bid documents, technical specs, drawings, and construction details
- Participate in pre-bed, pre-construction, and project meetings
- Prepare cost estimates for various pavement projects
- Use specialized software to simulate pavement behavior
- Coordinate with the engineering team, clients, contractors, and stakeholders
- Analyze traffic loads, soil characteristics, and environmental factors
- Research and design innovative pavement systems
- Ensure designs are functional, safe, and compliant
- Present designs for client approval
- Optimize structural and functional aspects for pavement systems
- Estimate costs for different design options
- Liaise with clients to determine project briefs
Key Responsibilities - Pavement Construction Quality:
- Act as a liaison between the owner and the pavement contractor
- Understand and follow contract specifications
- Report project progress and ensure correct installation methods
- Monitor final construction phases to address technical issues
Key Responsibilities - Pavement Inspection:
- Inventory pavement conditions and identify defects
- Forecast pavement performance using degradation curves
- Develop budgets for maintenance, repair, and capital renewal
- Schedule maintenance and repair with clients
- Maintain pavement condition data and manage customer assets
What You Bring:
- 3-5 years in pavement/asphalt design and on-site project monitoring
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solutions-oriented attitude and problem-solving skills
- Proven construction experience with a focus on quality
- Confident public speaking and presentation skills
- Leadership abilities to manage and inspire the team
- Willingness to travel extensively for projects
- Hands-on work experience and client-facing skills
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to diverse work requirements
- Effective interpersonal skills
