About the Job
The Paving Superintendent supervises and aides the field foreman on project, including its organization, planning, and scheduling, in order to complete the work on time, within the budget, and to quality specified. In the performance of this function, the Paving Superintendent is responsible to protect and promote the interest of Kansas Asphalt, Inc., in all matters.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities::- Schedule all pavings crews on a weekly basis for a 3 week schedule with construction coordinator, & sales team.
- Oversee foreman working under their authority, which might include subcontractors.
- Layout and perform on-site pre-con meetings with customers.
- Coordinate upcoming jobs with material suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Responsible for all paving projects including quality of work performed by crews.
- Inspect projects before, during, and after the project.
- Work closely with construction coordinator to communicate information from the field to the office.
- Management logistics of equipment and trucking for all paving crews and communicate with concrete supervisors as to needs.
- Management of all stocked material for crew truck and fleet maintenance.
- Operation and highly skilled labor as needed on project.
- Performing surveys of lots including setting and shooting grades, including layout of grades for lots.
- Should be competent in all aspects of parking lot maintenance, concrete repair, asphalt paving, seal-coating, drain structure repairs, signage installation, and general heavy civil construction activities.
