Payroll Accountant - Family Resource Center

Under the guidance of the Controller, you will provide oversight for biweekly payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, while working 32-40 hours per week based on need. Ensure compliance with personnel policies, and federal/state regulations, while also supporting our mission through effective financial management. Maintain payroll-related accounts and be responsible for the reconciliation and accuracy of one or more accounts within a complex accounting system. Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, prepare accounting transactions and documents, update procedures, and prepare special reports for management.
You thrive in an environment that requires your strong attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy. You have strong knowledge of payroll debits and credits, with the ability to ensure they accurately feed into the General Ledger. Balance payroll-related ledgers. Balance and ensure timely filing of payroll taxes, benefits (IRS, BWC, multi-state filings, and local tax withholdings), and voluntary deduction reports. Validate and balance W-2s and W-3s at year-end. Assist in both internal and external audits, gather information related to payroll and benefit deductions, and provide support to the HR department.

You have.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 2-4 years of related experience that includes payroll processing and reconciling accounts
- A valid driver's license
- CPR/First Aid Certification or the willingness to obtain one and willingness to submit background check and fingerprinting
- Ability to regularly use various computer apps including M365, our HRIS, EHR and other online systems, with multiple logins often simultaneously
