Leading commercial real estate development and investment firm managing a diverse portfolio that includes multi-family residential, industrial, commercial, and hospitality properties across the United States. We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Payroll and Accounts Payable Manager with extensive experience in managing multiple projects and entities.

responsibilities:
Payroll Management
- Process bi-weekly payroll for over 50 employees.
- Oversee submissions for 401(k), HSA, FSA, and other employee benefits to third-party administrators.
- Record all payroll-related journal entries accurately.
- Set up new hires in the payroll system and handle terminations as required.
- Establish annual benefit plans within the payroll system.
- Manage the payroll inbox, addressing all employee benefit inquiries and payroll changes.
- Reconcile insurance and other benefit billings.
- Assist in 401(k) and Workers' Compensation audits.
- Prepare W-2 forms and complete the U.S. Census and other required surveys as needed.
- Allocate labor costs to multiple entities on a monthly basis.
- Handle ad hoc requests and special projects as they arise.
Accounts Payable Management
- Manage the accounts payable inbox.
- Oversee weekly payment runs, including:
- Final approval of invoices before posting in the accounting system.
- Reviewing payments processed by team members for accuracy.
- Providing accounts payable reports to controllers for payment approval.
- Upload Positive Pay transactions and manage any exceptions.
- Set up new vendors in the accounting software.
- Process confidential invoices and monthly credit card charges.
- Prepare weekly bank reconciliations and 1099 forms.
- Handle ad hoc requests and special projects as necessary.
qualifications:
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable management
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field ideal
- Proven experience in accounting for multiple divisions or locations.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with payroll software such as APS or similar systems.
- Strong organizational, planning, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a flexible team environment and wear multiple hats within a small office setting.
