The Payroll Analyst will support the Payroll Manager and Payroll Director in coordinating the day-to-day operations and payroll inputs for delivery of payroll services, in a way that balances required service levels to employees, high level of statutory compliance, and strong partnership with stakeholders.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Payroll Analyst will support the Payroll Manager and Payroll Director in coordinating the day-to-day operations and payroll inputs for delivery of payroll services, in a way that balances required service levels to employees, high level of statutory compliance, and strong partnership with stakeholders.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as subject matter expert by registering/updating state and local tax accounts.
- Conduct periodic audits and review of employee work/home state and local tax set up to ensure payroll taxes are withheld correctly.
- Partner with Mobility, Talent, Equity and Payroll tax team to administer company programs.
- Loads various payroll data into Workday for bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Performs in-depth research, analyze, and resolve complex employee tax issues, inquiries and various reporting requirements as well as address tax issues that may arise during payroll processing with high sense of urgency
- Interprets quarterly Domestic & Global Relocation tax calculations processed by third party business partner and ensure accuracy and compliance with multi-state taxation methodology and coordination with any international third-party payroll agencies
- Coordinates with the stock administration’s team to ensure correct federal and multi-state tax withholding on equity-related compensation. Loads these transactions in Workday for proper payroll handling.
- Coordinates, participates and oversees department year-end close responsibilities including fringe benefit adjustments and W-2 audit tests, W2 balancing, file validation, and release, processing of W-2 Corrections and Reissues
- Supports M&A activities by loading and reconciling payroll data into Workday.
- Strong understanding of FLSA requirements regarding regular rate of pay.
- Strong understanding of meal penalty rules and regulations.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of payroll experience
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- CPP/FPC certification preferred
- Experience with Workday and ADP systems
- Solid understanding of payroll knowledge and principles
- Some understanding of payroll processing within a shared services environment
- Solid time management skills with the ability to prioritize assignments in a dynamic work environment
- Proficient computer, organizational, analytical, research and problem solving skills
- Intermediate Excel level, proficient with Google applications
- Ability to learn processes quickly for more efficient and effective results
- Ability to troubleshoot payroll processing issues, run and analyze reports
- Ability to apply documented rules, past practices, or instructions on an independent level
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be agile
- Ability to process and connect information in times of ambiguity
- Demonstrated ability to hold information confidential with excellent judgment
