Our Accounting & Finance Staffing team is currently looking to speak with candidates who would be a good fit for Boston-based roles with the specifications below:
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data
- Update payroll records by entering changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions, and saving deductions
- Gather and examine timesheets to ensure their validity before entering hours into payroll software
- Capture and process approved annual and sick leave
- Ensure that compensation for overtime/holiday work is calculated at the appropriate rate and that annual leave is calculated accordingly, if applicable
- Confirm that legally-mandated and optional deductions have been processed correctly
- Complete all necessary payroll tasks before the pay run to ensure that staff members are compensated accurately and on time
- Address queries about payroll-related issues
- Work to resolve discrepancies in payments as a matter of urgency
- Identify opportunities for operational excellence and improvement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
- 0-2 years of related Payroll and/or Accounting experience
- Experience/familiarity with ADP or similar e-time systems required
- Knowledge of FMLA, sick time, wage garnishments, and tax withholdings
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with large volumes of data
- Ability to communicate effectively with people across all levels/departments
