Payroll Responsibilities:
Precision at its Finest: As our Payroll Specialist, you'll be the maestro of payroll, ensuring that every note is in tune. You'll prepare and submit Agency payroll with precision, conducting pre-audits to ensure data accuracy and verifying the authenticity of output.
Money Matters: You'll be accountable for distributing payroll checks, leaving no check unclaimed.
Master of Numbers: Analyze, compute, and review salary changes, including new hires, promotions, transfers, and more. Your expertise will extend to overtime, additional hours, and processing payroll adjustments like a pro.
Data Guru: You'll enter and maintain critical data for the HRIS system, ensuring all records are up to date.
Analysis Extraordinaire: Prepare and maintain payroll-related analysis, reports, and projections as needed to keep us on track and informed.
Budget Brilliance: Ensure employees' salaries are accurately allocated to the right programs according to our budgeted job cost allocations.
Balancing Act: Reconcile and provide accounting breakdown information for our Bi-weekly Payroll calculations.
Flexibility Counts: Be ready to generate and process Off Cycle Payrolls as required and provide backup support to your team members when they're away.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is a must, as you'll need these tools to excel in your role.
Key Player: Assist with End of Year processing, reconciliations, and other duties as assigned by our CFO/Payroll Specialist.
Human Resources Responsibilities:
️♀️ The Gatekeeper: Review all new hires, terminated employees, and other payroll-related changes before processing payroll, ensuring accuracy.
️ Confidential Guardian: Maintain confidential employee personnel files within all required federal and state guidelines.
Time Tracker: Monitor and track vacation/personal/sick leave and time sheets for all employees, providing valuable monthly reports to Program Managers and Department Managers.
Versatile Support: Perform other HR-related tasks as assigned or requested by the CFO, CEO, or Payroll Specialist.
Education and Experience:
Accounting Aficionado: A college graduate in Accounting or equivalent experience in computerized payroll functions. You should have three to five years of specialized experience in all relevant contractual payroll functions, including maintenance, preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
Knowledge:
The Know-How: You should possess knowledge of technical and professional principles and skills of payroll accounting and non-profit agency finance. Knowledge of GL is a must, and familiarity with HRISor other payroll processing systems is a plus. Understanding federal and state employment laws governing pay and benefits is crucial.
Skills & Abilities:
Team Player: Your ability to maintain good working relationships with supervisors, management, colleagues, and various Agency personnel is key.
️ Effective Communicator: Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
