Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Coordinator for a nonprofit in Flint, MI to manage accurate and confidential payroll processing and employee benefits administration. This role involves overseeing bi-weekly payroll processing, auditing time entries, coordinating with third-party administrators (TPAs) for benefits, and ensuring compliance with tax payments and reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate will bring experience in payroll processing from time entry to tax payments, have a strong understanding of tax compliance, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Approx Hours: 7:30am-3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Audit POS and time clock entries to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations.
- Assist managers and employees with the online benefits portal and payroll documentation.
- Oversee the annual benefits open enrollment process.
- Coordinate benefit enrollments with third-party administrators (TPAs).
- Submit biweekly Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) tax payments.
- File quarterly wage reports through Michigan Web Account Manager (MIWAM).
- Submit W-2 information to federal, state, and local agencies within annual deadlines.
- Process annual ACA 1095 forms using Employee Navigator within required deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years in payroll processing, including time entry, payroll calculation, and tax payments.
- Education: Associate's degree preferred.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred; familiarity with Employee Navigator and Excel required.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and payroll regulations.
- Impeccable attention to detail with high accuracy in payroll calculations and record-keeping.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee information discreetly.
- Strong organization and time management abilities to meet strict deadlines.
- Experience resolving payroll discrepancies and conducting payroll audits.
- Background in creating or implementing payroll policies and procedures.
- Ability to generate and analyze payroll reports, with strong documentation skills.
- Knowledge of managing employee benefits and understanding of payroll-related deductions.
- Awareness of laws impacting payroll, such as overtime, minimum wage, and leave policies.
- Valid driver’s license; dependable and punctual.
