Position Overview:
The Payroll and Benefits Manager, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for overseeing payroll processes and benefits administration for the company’s U.S. and Canadian operations. This role ensures timely and accurate payroll, manages benefits programs, and ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. The Payroll/Benefits Manager plays a key part in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of payroll and benefits functions within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
- Evaluate and optimize benefit programs, identifying trends and cost-effective solutions.
- Serve as the primary contact for payroll, benefits, and HR support for field operations.
- Coordinate with payroll and benefits vendors, ensuring accurate billing and compliance.
- Oversee tax filings and maintain payroll procedures.
- Lead payroll and benefits projects related to process improvements and system updates.
- Manage the annual benefits enrollment process and enhance employee communication on benefits.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations like COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of payroll experience required.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing and related compliance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
