Job Overview
The Payroll Clerk maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. This position updates payroll records when necessary, collecting and verifying timekeeping data for all employees and ensuring work hours are accurate. Responsibilities also include providing payroll information by answering questions and requests, sharing payroll reports with the accounting department for review, and supporting audits related to payroll.
Please Note this Position is Part-Time, 20 hours per week/ 40 per pay period.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform data entry tasks related to payroll processing
- Review timesheets during and after each pay period, verify information, work hours, and exceptions for accuracy
- Send reminders to staff and managers to ensure that all timesheets and leave requests are approved in a timely manner
- Perform regular audits of the payroll system and associated transactions
- Maintain strict confidentiality and protect payroll operations by keeping all personal information confidential
- Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records for audit purposes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Assist in generating payroll reports for management and accounting purposes
- Document and maintain administrative procedures for payroll-related processes
- Assist in processing payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field or
- 2+ years of equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or a related field and
- 2+ years of experience in ADP
- Proficient in ADP Workforce Now
- Knowledge of payroll terminology, practices, and basic accounting theory and practice
- Ability to perform payroll related calculations
- Must have the ability to work independently and multitask in a time-sensitive, high-growth environment in a calmly manner
- Ability to effectively analyze data and inquiries, think critically, and make appropriate decisions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records in compliance with rules and regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; intermediate experience with Excel
- Ability and maturity to handle highly confidential information
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize work effectively and complete work on time
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and among all levels of employees

Working Remotely
At this time, SCS Global Services is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce. This role will be based out of your home office.
Estimated Hourly Salary
$20.40 - $26.55
