Job Description:
- The US Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME) will report to the Associate Director of Payroll. The SME must have end-to-end US payroll knowledge and experience and be a subject matter expert in this field. The SME will support the management team to help the company team prepare for its deployment of Workday payroll (moving from ADP Payforce), including leading and preparing the team towards January 2024 go-live, hyper-care and stabilization. The SME is expected to be highly self-motivated and innovative, with proven experience in successfully preparing teams for the implementation of new payroll technology. A high degree of professionalism and discretion is mandatory in handling sensitive and confidential information. Apply subject matter end-to-end payroll expertise in Workday payroll deployment, evaluating business operations and processes, and assuring proper documentation. Effectively collaborate with the payroll team, payroll leaders, internal and external business partners, and stakeholders to ensure awareness of project progress, results, and escalations as well as operational items. Identify any capability gaps in US payroll team and prepare plan and trainings to close gaps. Actively identify, drive, lead, and deliver on process improvement initiatives. Ensure deliverables for Payroll are met. Review payroll policies and amend procedures when required. Report on performance. Communicate with leaders, internal business partners, and other stakeholders to ensure awareness of progress and results. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as policies regarding payments of wages, tax withholding, garnishments, and employee elected deductions. Accountable for compliance with internal and SOX controls, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Must be able to interact and influence peers at all levels of the organization. Update of global process maps, desk-top manuals, and documentation. Excellent interpersonal skills, an inquisitive mind, and the ability to work effectively with multiple, cross-functional stakeholders. Must be a critical thinker; must have strong analytical skills, the ability to use excellent judgment and resolve issues with dexterity and effective decision making. Qualifications:
- Pay rate $73-83
- Bachelors degree
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of Payroll Operations
- Experience with Workday Payroll required
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX Controls
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, Visio, PowerPoint)
- Experience working in a global organization
- Programs in a multi-national corporation
- Experience with ADP products, specifically PayForce, Workforce Now or Enterprise, is preferred not required
- CPP designation preferred not required
- Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus not required
