SUMMARY
The Payroll Coordinator will ensure accurate oversight of the agency's Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and Timeclock System. The Coordinator will process and record the company's bi-weekly payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information to the finance department. They will support the Human Resources department with new hire onboarding, benefits administration, personnel-related file retention and document maintenance.
ESSENTIAL PAYROLL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Process and issue employee payroll and statements of earnings and deductions.
2. Monitor wages and deductions and enter data into the payroll system.
3. Review employee time sheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
4. Compile employee time and payroll data from time sheets and other records.
5. Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments.
6. Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.
7. Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
8. Keep track of leave time, such as PTO, bereavement and extended-illness bank for employees
9. Participate in all prep work for annual 403 b audit.
10. Maintain a knowledge of the time clock system.
11. Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters and tax issues.
12. Monitor FLSA status, and work hour allocations for all employees.
13. Keep informed about changes in tax, deduction laws and federal mandates that apply to the payroll process.
14. Reconcile payroll and liability accounts.
15. Prepare and balance period-end reports as they relate to grant reporting, census reconciliation and payroll account reconciliations.
16. Compile analytical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts, and submit them to appropriate departments upon request.
17. Works with Benefits Administrator to verify, and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as unemployment and medical insurance.
18. Balance cash and payroll accounts.
19. Post relevant work hours to client files to bill clients properly.
20. Process payroll deductions for activities like EDEN's annual fund.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll administration experience required. Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required. Strong knowledge base of full cycle payroll processing and human resources experience required.
