About the Job
We are seeking a full-time Payroll Coordinator to assist the payroll department with a variety of administrative and clerical tasks related to payroll processing. Job duties include: Entering, maintaining, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, separations of employment, hiring paperwork and other information. Position is responsible for answering payroll related questions and requests, maintaining a separate payroll and union database and answering and directing incoming telephone calls.
The Ideal candidate will have professional attitude & appearance and is self-motivated, hardworking, dependable, and responsible.
Job Requirements
- Must be able to follow instructions from supervisor and complete all tasks effectively.
- Ultipro/UKG experience a plus, proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software required.
- Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and professional written/ verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization as well as with external customers
- Team player with a positive “can do” attitude
- Ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and accuracy
- Enthusiasm for participating and communicating in our team-based department
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
