As a Payroll and HR Associate, you are a crucial member of the People Team assuring all employees’ (aka Hoodies) pay is accurate and delivered on time.
We are seeking a Payroll and HR Associate with a high proficiency in Payroll and a willingness to support all parts of the People team. This role will report to the HR Manager and will support the team at Hood by ensuring correct and timely pay while also acting as a key part of the infrastructure required to support a large and growing team. We are looking for someone with a ‘no job is too big or small’ disposition with a passion for employee experience and a strong attention to detail.

What You Will Bring, Do, and Own:
-You are responsible for bi-weekly multi-state payroll processing in compliance with government regulations by verifying time and attendance records, ensuring accuracy, and addressing any payroll-related inquiries or discrepancies.
-You are the primary point-of-contact for professional services’ payroll and for managers, including assistance with employee time and attendance (i.e. verifying timecards, reviewing payroll reports and/or verifying attendance reporting accuracy), vacation time, sick time, and payroll-related questions.
-You will stay updated on relevant employment laws and regulations, assisting with compliance efforts and ensuring payroll practices align with legal requirements.
-You will review and respond to regulatory agency inquiries such as tax agency report requests, third-party garnishments, employment verifications, etc.
-You will support answering employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits, providing timely and accurate responses.
-You will ensure that all employee information is accurate with ownership and pride in the ‘source of truth’ living in a well-maintained and fully up-to-date HRIS.
-You will be responsible for benefits reconciliation partnering with PaulHood’s benefits broker and other third-party vendors.
-You are committed to coordinating seamless employee experience in all areas ranging from onboarding coordination, training and enablement scheduling, and open enrollment.
-You understand that documentation and reporting are essential in the HR function and are ready and willing to lean into any projects or asks that ensure timely and accurate data and employee details.

-You are tech-savvy, know the Microsoft Office suite, and have the ability to quickly learn new software and technology.
Experience and Education You Will Need:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in processing payroll within a multi-state environment.
-Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other certification, is strongly preferred.
-Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll taxes.
-Familiarity with HR practices and employee benefits administration
