Job Description: The Payroll/HR Clerk supports the Accounting and HR department's practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The payroll clerk will play a huge role in reaching our company goals. This position requires attention to detail in a fast paced and multi-faceted environment.
Payroll Duties
• Collect, confirm and process timesheets and overtime
• Enter data into accounting system, submit for approval
• Enter data into 3rd party payroll service
• Monthly and quarterly payroll reports
• Approval & tracking of PTO requests
• Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
• Obtain overtime approvals
• Process garnishment requests
• Employee expense report auditing and processing
• Assist in month end reporting procedures
• Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
• Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
• Maintains payroll operations and processes, makes necessary recommendations for change
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Other Duties
• Sales and Use Tax Reporting
• Perform filing and general administrative tasks
• Other HR duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Associates degree or equivalent
• 2+ years payroll administration or processing
• 2+ years MS Office experience
• 2+ years Quickbooks Payroll experience
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
