Payroll Manager
Timberline Construction Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of construction, project, and payroll processes within a high-growth company. This staff member will be a key player in the success of the accounting team and TCG. The position will be located at our headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, and the candidate will work daily with the field staff, project managers, Controller, and Managing Members.

Responsibilities
· Oversee all aspects of the company payroll process and reporting.
· Responsible for accurate review and coding of timekeeping for bi-weekly pay periods.
· Ensure payroll is submitted timely and accurately to payroll processor.
· Record bi-weekly payroll journal entry and reconcile accrued payroll accounts.
· Ensure adherence to all payroll and expense reporting policies and elevate issues to management.
· Collaborate with HR Department to add new hires, employee changes or terminations.
· In-charge of daily payroll maintenance, and all employee personal info related changes.
· Update any hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, or any other means of compensation.
· Manage any updates in employee benefit, garnishment, or any other withholding deductions.
· Set up and maintain state payroll tax accounts and calculations for multi-state payroll.
· Maintain PTO balances throughout the year, manage PTO accrual and schedule of upcoming PTO.
· Oversee year-end payroll accruals, W2s and state and local tax returns.
· Manage communication with payroll processing company.
· Coordinate with payroll service to resolve any federal, state, and local payroll related tax notices.
· Research and comply with Dept of Labor guidance and laws including the Davis-Bacon Act and McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act related to applicable government contracts.
· Oversee payroll calculations for monthly Workers Compensation and annual wages by state reporting.
· Complete all duties with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
· Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
· Prior construction experience is desired, but not required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products, especially reconciling functions with Excel.
· Experience with Unanet and GovConPay (iSolved) and other Operating Systems desired, but not required.
· Tech-savvy. Timberline is an integrated company and looking to utilize online platforms.
