VENTEON Finance is hiring a PAYROLL SPECIALIST to provide support for a professional services company in Downtown Detroit, MI. Perform as part of a team processing accurate, timely payroll

POSITION TYPE: Full time. Contract position that can be converted to direct hire with good performance.

Requirements of the PAYROLL SPECIALIST:

• Degree preferred, will consider strong payroll background as well.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of full cycle payroll experience. Experience with multi state payroll processing.

• Payroll tax knowledge and ability to reconcile payroll related accounts.

• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, ADP HRB, eTIME, MS Office with strong excel skills.

• Organized individual with good time management skills.

Duties of the PAYROLL SPECIALIST :

• Take part in the day to day activities of the payroll team.

• Setup and maintain employee information such as address, banking, rates and deduction details in the system.

• Process payroll by approving hourly timesheets in the system, calculating and tracking PTO, processing all garnishments and deductions including for benefits and loans. Process reimbursements of approved expense reports, special pays and payroll adjustments.

• Accounting: Post payroll processing: prepare journal entries for all payroll runs, reconcile payroll accounts, and calculate payments amounts for garnishments and benefits deductions.

• Process unemployment claims. Respond to employment verifications. Generate various payroll related reports. Support audits.
