Payroll Specialist - Wood Personnel Services

Wood Personnel Services has partnered with a leading organization in Hendersonville, TN to fill a critical Payroll Specialist position. This role will support payroll operations, working directly with other finance team members, current Payroll Specialist, and the Director of Finance. The Payroll Specialist will handle full-cycle payroll, assist in managing compliance, and address complex payroll processing needs during a high-demand period.

Compensation for the Payroll Specialist

• $25 to $28 per hour Depending on Experience
• Temp-to-Hire, with potential for permanent placement
• Flexibility on pay rate for highly qualified candidates

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist

• Handle end-to-end payroll processing, including payroll accounting and processing garnishments
• Support the payroll team with complex payroll tasks, ensuring compliance with payroll policies and procedures
• Maintain weekly payroll for sales staff and bi-weekly payroll for corporate and branch employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Requirements of the Payroll Specialist

• Mid-level experience in payroll processing, with specific experience in payroll accounting
• Garnishments experience preferred
• Strong research and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, including professional interaction with state and local agencies as needed
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll processes is a plus but not required

Preferred Experience: At least a few years in a payroll or related role, with familiarity in multi-state payroll and payroll compliance.
