Job Description:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the time and attendance system and works as a team preparing and processing a multi-state biweekly payroll in conformance with company policy and Federal and State regulations.
- Audit employee time records companywide, working with remote locations to resolve issues.
- Process employee additions and changes in the payroll system including earnings, deductions and benefit accruals.
- Prepare and upload payroll related batch entries for biweekly payroll.
- Audit payroll for accuracy.
- Calculate manual payroll for terminations, special payments and garnishments as required.
- Provide back-up payroll support for the Payroll and Benefits Administrator.
- Assist the Payroll and Benefits Administrator with year-end processes.
- Answer employee and management questions related to time and/or pay.
- Assist with other projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience with timekeeping and payroll processing. Multistate payroll processing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of automated payroll and time & attendance systems such as UKG and ADP.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient with excel and data entry.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates must be a positive and enthusiastic team member.
