Payroll Supervisor - Sarasota Memorial Health Care System

Job Summary:

This leader has accountability and oversight, and supervises the daily activities of the payroll area. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring individual and team work tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:

- Require an Associate degree in a business-related field, or an Associate degree equivalent if currently attending a four-year school. Additional relevant payroll experience may substitute for required degree on a year-for-year basis.
- Require a minimum of five (5) years of experience with payroll functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prefer demonstrated ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to analyze problems and consistently follow through to solution.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem solving expertise.
- Prefer comprehensive knowledge of payroll and payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Prefer demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills at all levels.
- Prefer previous experience in analytical review and interpretation of payroll.
- Prefer demonstrated leadership skills and understanding of group processes, teamwork, and cost center based management.
- Prefer two (2) years of supervisory experience.
