Salary Range: 22.00 - 32.03 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The PBX Operator answers a multi-incoming computerized PBX system and directs calls to the appropriate extension, department, or individual. Responsible for monitoring and responding appropriately to medical emergency alarms, fire, and equipment failure.
Responsible for activating the various types of Emergency Codes in the Hospital (both Disaster/Emergency and Medical Emergency. Assists in transferring and connection of outgoing calls, operator-assistance calls, toll calls, and international calls for physicians, Hospital personnel, and patients.
Education and Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Preferred:
- Six months PBX experience in an acute hospital environment
Licenses and Certifications
Required:
- Valid California driver’s license for those who are authorized to operate Hoag vehicles.
