As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our pediatric dentist and ensuring that each child's visit is smooth and enjoyable. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the pediatric dentist during dental procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.
- Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring they are well-stocked and sanitized.
- Welcoming young patients and their families, helping to create a friendly and reassuring atmosphere.
- Educating children and their parents on proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Taking digital X-rays and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments and equipment.
- Providing chairside assistance to the dentist, anticipating their needs and ensuring patient comfort.
- Offering support to children who may be anxious or nervous about dental procedures.
- Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participating in team meetings and continuing education opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
- Pediatric dental experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and work with children is essential.
- X-ray certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with children and parents.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
