Overview:Pediatric Endocrinologist
The Children’s Mercy Kansas City Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes is seeking a fellowship-trained, BC/BE pediatrician endocrinologist to join the faculty. The duties of this full-time position are primarily clinical; the ideal candidate will have an interest in both endocrinology and diabetes.
The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes includes 30 pediatric endocrinologists, up to 7 fellows, 5 nurse practitioners, social workers, staff nurses, certified diabetes educators, care assistants, and clinical research coordinators. This team provides outpatient care at 4 clinic locations in Kansas City, MO, and at two campuses in Wichita, KS, and Topeka, KS. In addition, we provide pediatric endocrine care at several regional clinics in Kansas and Missouri. Multidisciplinary specialty clinics provide care to children of all ages affected by endocrine disorders associated with childhood cancer, 22Q11.2 Deletion, thyroid nodules, Turner Syndrome, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, gender dysphoria, metabolic syndrome/risk for type 2 diabetes, and disorders of sex differentiation. The diabetes center provides pediatric care to over 2500 individuals with type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes; our division has an ADA-recognized diabetes educational program.
Inpatient consultations are provided at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and at KU University Hospital in Kansas City, as well as at community hospitals in Wichita and Topeka.
