Academic Faculty Position - Pediatric Hematology-Oncology

Applications are invited for a full-time faculty position in the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Bernard & Millie Duker Childrens Hospital at Albany Med.
Applicants will have the opportunity to join the Capital Regions only Comprehensive Hematology/Oncology Program for children. This individual will be joining 5 additional full-time faculty in a well-established and donor-supported program at the Melodies Center with specialty clinics in Sarcoma, Neuro-Oncology/Neurofibromatosis, Sickle Cell, Hemophilia/Thrombosis, and Survivorship. This signature program of the Bernard & Millie Duker Childrens Hospital at Albany Med serves over 740,000 children from 25 counties in upstate New York, southern Vermont and western Massachusetts and is the only specialty clinic of its kind in the region. The faculty hold academic appointments at the Albany Medical College and actively participate in teaching of residents and medical students daily. We evaluate approximately 70 new cancer diagnoses annually and see more than 5700 outpatient visits in the outpatient offices. We are full members of COG and ATHN and participate in funding initiatives through both organizations.
Albany Medical Center Hospital is a large academic Medical Center in Albany, New York, the state capital. It is a level I Trauma Center and the regional hub for all adult and pediatric specialties. The Bernard & Millie Duker Childrens Hospital, which houses a 60 bed Level 4 NICU, 19 bed PICU, and a state-of-the-art Pediatric Emergency Department, is the site of inpatient care rendered by the division. Albany Medical College is a private medical school, and a nondiscriminatory AA/EOE institution (minorities and women are encouraged to apply). The successful candidate will enjoy many opportunities for teaching and mentoring house staff and medical students and will be eligible for a faculty appointment in Albany medical College, rank will be commensurate with qualifications, and experience.
