SRequired: CA RN license, BLS and PALS (AHA only), 1.5 - 2 yrs. CVICU/PICU/CCU experience and MUST HAVE PEDS CARDIAC EXPERIENCE. Preferred: 1+ years of travel experience and previous Children's Hospital experience (but no previous travel experience is required) Shifts: 12 hour variables/rotations OR 12 hour night shifts are available. Must be willing to work 7 shifts in a bi-weekly pay period and flexible with 12 hour variable shifts - days/nights are required. Must work 2 out of the 3 holidays. Skills: Ventilators, multiple monitors, computerized charting experience and EKG interpretation. Unit Summary: NP ratio 1:1-2. 30 beds, but can amp up to 37 beds. High acuity unit seeing post op cardiac surgical care, cardiology patients, complex congenital patients, acquired heart disease patients, heart transplantation, VAD’s and ECMO. Functions at the Standard Level of nursing practice. Patients can range from neonatal to young adults older than the age of 18 years. Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of pediatric patient care. Selects and administers the appropriate care taking into consideration the age and developmental level and size of the patient. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek resources as needed and possess a positive attitude.
