Core Responsibilities:

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA laws
• Escort patients to and from exam/treatment rooms
• Triage patients as necessary
• Administer vaccines and injections
• Record patient data prior to the physician’s visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes
• Obtain necessary patient records and verify consent prior to treatment or procedures
• Assist physicians with exams and a wide variety of procedures, including but not limited to injections, dermatologic procedures, pelvic exams, EKGs, eye exams, managing dressings, POC lab tests, and performing x-rays (training provided)
• Administer medications orally, vaginally, rectally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, and intradermally
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed
• Maintain proper disinfection protocols
• Schedule patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments
• Complete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging
• Complete all forms used by the provider, including but not limited to, growth charts, MPE, pap forms, cytology-pathology forms, etc.
• Phone in prescriptions and distribute proper medications as ordered by the provider
• Other duties as necessary

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, required
• Associates degree in Medical Assisting, preferred
• One of the following or similar qualification is preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Graduate of Medical Assisting Program (MA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, required
• Must pass Avance Care Competency Check (Medical Knowledge Assessment and Vaccination Knowledge Assessment)
• Pediatric clinical setting experienice, required 
• Blingual (English/Spanish) speaking, required
