The University of Florida Department of Pediatrics is pleased to announce a faculty opening for a full-time Pediatric Psychologist in the Division of General Pediatrics. While this position will primarily support the needs of patients with hematologic/oncologic conditions, cell therapy recipients, and those receiving palliative care, there will also be opportunities to provide services for other patient populations based on departmental need. This will be a non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate or Full Professor.

The successful candidate will join interdisciplinary medial behavioral health team that is located and integrated into a large, multi-site multispecialty practice within an academic medical center. While patients will be primarily referred by care providers within pediatric hematology/oncology and pediatric palliative care, referrals may also come from other pediatric subspecialties. The candidate will work extensively with patients in the UF Health/Shands North Tower and associated infusion room/outpatient clinic.

The psychologist will provide a broad range of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and their families, including triage, consultation, care coordination, DSM 5 diagnostic assessments, problem-focused, evidence-based interventions, and referrals to other behavioral health and general pediatrics providers at UF Health and in the community as needed. Assignment will be comprised of clinical assessment and evaluation, psychotherapy, and the possibility of teaching, research and administrative activities depending on the interests of the candidate.

UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital represents the only quaternary-care academic pediatric center in North Florida. The children’s hospital has 208 beds, including fully-equipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is part of the Children's Miracle Network's alliance of premier hospitals for children.

UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges, as well as those from across the University. The focus of team efforts is often grown out of the Centers and Institutes, including the Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute, the UF Genetics Institute, the Powell Gene Therapy Center, and the UF Health Cancer Center.

Commensurate with education and experience 

A doctorate in psychology from an accredited college or university, which includes one year of supervised internship experience in professional psychology.

Active/Unrestricted license in the State of Florida or license eligible in the State of Florida.
