ABOUT: We are a 25 bed, multi-specialty medical clinic and rehabilitation center located in beautiful, rural Craig, CO (just 45 miles west of Steamboat Springs, CO Ski Resort). We provide L4 ED care, inpatient care, diagnostic imaging, surgery, laboratory, special care unit, cardiopulmonary, oncology and chemotherapy services and more.
SHIFT: Days, M-F, 40 hours guaranteed, No Overtime

JOB DESCRIPTION: SLP working primarily with outpatient pediatrics, outpatient adults and some subacute inpatient coverage as needed & modified barium swallow studies.
Position Purpose: Toprovide diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient/family education, andappropriate referrals to patients exhibiting a speech, language, or swallowingdisorder. Maintain quality care for allpatients through a coordinated, comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach; andproviding assistance where communication barriers exist due to speech/languagedisabilities to enable each individual to reach his or her maximum level ofindependence.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
Position Specific Performance Expectations:
oCoordinates and directs patient care services to patients of all ages toensure that patient needs are met. Services include patient evaluation/assessment, establishing and implementing a plan of care, assessingeffectiveness of and modifying treatment to ensure goal achievement, andeducating patients/caregivers.
oInteracts professionally with the patient and/or family/caregiver andinvolves them in the plan of care.
oDemonstrates the ability to apply therapeutic principles and practicesbased on current evidence and knowledge, appropriate clinical judgment, andpatient preference.
oAdapts the delivery of services with consideration for patients'differences, values, preferences, and needs.
oPractices in a safe manner that minimizes the risk to patient, self, andothers
oProduces quality documentation in a timely manner to support provision ofcare, according to current standards that are based on professional associationand regulatory guidelines.
oCollects and analyzes data from selected outcome measures to monitorpatient progress and the benefit of interventions.
oCommunicates appropriately, professionally and clearly to physicians,staff, and hospital leadership.
oSubmits appropriate & accurate documentation and timely billing/codinginformation for services rendered.
oParticipates in ongoing professional development to maintain a level ofclinical practice consistent with best practice standards. This includesseeking opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills and utilizing thesenewly acquired skills in the provision of care and for growth and developmentof the department and hospital.
oCritically assesses self to improve clinical and professionalperformance.
oAdvocates for the speech therapy profession.
oProtects patients and employees by adheringto infection-control policies and protocols.
oMaintains professional and technicalknowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professionalpublications; establishing personal networks; participating in professionalsocieties.
oDevelops rehab and hospital staff byproviding information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.
oComplies with federal, state, and local legaland certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation;anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advisingmanagement on needed actions.
oStrives to: promote health, create a safe andeffective treatment environment, motivate others, have a good bedside manner,listen, analyze information, be quality focused.
oSchool-based speechlanguage pathologists (in addition to above expectations): Collaborate with theschool-based team to help determine and carryout Individualized EducationPrograms (IEPs); identify a students annual goals and determine the services,supports, modifications, and accommodations that are required for the studentto achieve them.
oHome health speech language pathologists (in addition toabove expectations): Provide in-home speech therapy services to homeboundpatients and work in collaboration with the home health interdisciplinary team.
oPerforms otherduties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
oMust be at least16 years of age (21 for driving positions)
oMust be able tolegally work in the United States
oMust be able topass a background check
oMust be able topass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable)
oMust completeemployee health meeting
Education/Licensure/Certification:
oActive ColoradoSpeech Language Pathologist License (DORA) or valid compact license
oCurrent CPR(BLS)certification (within 90 days of hire per MRH Policy)
oValid DriversLicense (Home Health only)
Experience:
oCurrent Certificate ofClinical Competence granted by the American Speech Language HearingAssociation, in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
