Peer Support Center Assistant BONUS - Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services

RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center, has an immediate opening for a full-time (20 hrs/wk) Peer Support Center Assistant at our Oak Ridge location.  The scheduled days will be Tuesday-Friday, 11:30am-6pm.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be a current or former mental health consumer. Prefer candidates that are eligible for Certified Peer Recovery Specialists training within 1 year of employment. Must have knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of adults with serious mental illness; must have good communication, decision-making, and organizational skills; must be active in your mental health recovery. Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license and safe driving record to be insurable under Ridgeview’s policy. Flexible to work in other counties when needed.

JOB DUTIES

A consumer-run Peer Support Center is a central place for consumer self-help, advocacy, and education about mental health issues and resources. Through a Peer Support Center, consumers develop their own program to supplement existing mental health services or provide an alternative to those services. Duties will include providing peer support, assistance in recordkeeping, leading mental health recovery groups and providing social activates for consumers.
