POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Project Administrator, the Consumer Peer Specialist provides hope and encouragement to participants. The Consum...QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
• In recovery and living with HIV\Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• State of WI Certified Peer Specialist preferred, otherwise must be certified within a year of hire.
• Driver’s license, safe driving record, safe vehicle (smoke-free), and proof of vehicle insurance
• A self-identified current or former user of BHD or HIV services who can relate to others who are now using those services
• Able to work independently and as a member of a team
• Able to work evenings and weekends
• Have good knowledge of the city’s public transit system
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a multicultural setting
• Good written and verbal skills
• Good organization skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Attention to detail
WORK CONDITIONS
Work hours: Departmental business hours with the possibility of evenings and weekends as necessary.
