Salary - $32,500 - $39,000
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification/License Requirement:
Certification as Peer Support Specialist by state-approved training program.
Special Experience/Qualifications Needed:
2 years of sobriety due to outreach nature of position prefer personal experience with DCBS system.
Duties/Responsibilities: The Peer Support Specialist at the UK KDMC Mother/Baby Unit plays a critical role in supporting patients and their families who are navigating mental health or substance use disorders (SUD) while addressing the unique needs of the mother/baby population. This role involves providing individual and group support services within the hospital setting, engaging with patients to offer empathy, guidance, and practical assistance, and facilitating connections to appropriate community resources.
Salary - $32,500 - $39,000

Experience Required:
- Personal Experience: Lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges and recovery is essential.

- Knowledge: Understanding of recovery principles, substance use disorders, and the specific needs of the mother/baby population.
- Experience: Prior experience in a peer support role, especially within a healthcare or substance use treatment setting, is preferred.
