Salary - $32,500
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification as Peer Support Specialist by state-approved training program.
Duties/Responsibilities: The PSS will provide social and emotional support, advocacy and consumer information to the adult mental health population. These activities are planned and implemented through a partnership with the consumer and the treatment team members. These activities are provide to support the consumer to live their own lives and to direct their own recovery and wellness process. Serve as a recovery agent by providing and advocating for any effective recovery based services that will aid the client in daily living.
Experience Required: History of lived experience with mental health-related difficulties; attend and complete Peer Support training; have an understanding of the recovery process and how to utilize that process to help others.
