We are seeking an experienced Systems Specialist who is a US Citizen and local to the New York City area for this position.
Salary: $70 Per Hour, W2
Qualifications: The Business Systems Delivery department of Information Technology is seeking to hire a highly motivated and dedicated professional to join its management team. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, with a specialization in an Information Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering related discipline. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of work experience managing mid-to-large scale IT projects through the full systems life cycle management, supporting both vendor software packages and in-house built systems, including requirements review, design, development, testing, rollout, implementation and training; excellent ability to research, evaluate and recommend technical solutions; excellent planning, research, time management, multi-tasking, and the proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal business and technical teams, as well as vendors and consultants; ability to take directions and plan and execute independently or with minimal guidance. The successful candidate must possess excellent technical written and oral communication skills and must be able to interact with all levels of management. This individual must demonstrate the ability to complete multiple assignments with changing priorities while still meeting deadlines. The candidate must be able to learn new technology as required for the job using documentation and other available resources.
Technical background demonstrating a strong knowledge of the following technologies is desired: • Relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle) are desired. • Data processing for report generation and consumption is desired. • Application development involving technologies such as VB.NET/C#, Java, XML, and Web Services is desired; • PegaSystems CRM suite, particularly using PegaRULES Process Commander (PRPC) and Business Intelligence Exchange (BIX) a must; • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required, including Microsoft Project.
Responsibilities: The Candidate will be responsible for leading IT development projects supporting our Electric Operations Energy Services organization. The Candidate will be responsible for managing one or more development groups comprised of a combination of company employees, independent contractors and consultants, and System Integrator employees. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to mentor and develop junior team members. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all aspects of project planning, including project cost estimation and budgeting. The candidate will work directly with software vendor agents to support existing production systems, as well as managing licensing compliance. The candidate will collaborate with business representatives to understand functional requirements for software and reporting solutions to enable business processes, while adhering to IT corporate strategy. The selected candidate will work closely with several internal teams, including but not limited to: Technical Architecture, BizTalk, Work Management, Systems Assurance and Database Administration teams, to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements, in support of these systems. The selected candidate will also work with software vendor representatives – including the Pega Global Customer Support team – as needed, to diagnose and resolve software issues.

Physical Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license. Candidate must be flexible and must be able to work off hours as required to install product upgrades, support production problems or respond to corporate emergencies. Must be willing to work within the Con Edison work territory.
