Job Summary and Qualifications

The Physical Therapist (PT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of therapeutic care of an assigned group of patients in coordination with the physician and the patient care team. The Physical Therapist completes patient assessments and participates in developing and implementing individualized care plans focusing on goal achievement, patient engagement, and positive patient experience. The Physical Therapist provides or directs a majority of the patient’s physical therapy to support patients throughout the continuum of care.

What you will do in this role:

• You will provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics.
• You will assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status and participate in the development of the total plan of care.
• You will provide purposeful and skilled therapeutic care at patient’s home, using procedures and techniques to produce a change in condition/function consistent with the physician’s plan of care.
• You will instruct patient/family/caregiver in the use of therapies, exercises, therapeutic appliances, and/or prosthetic devices to be used outside of therapy sessions.
• You will prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs and coordinate assignments/handoffs.

Additionally:

While this posting is for an outpatient position, it also comes with the ability to grow and develop the pelvic program by promoting a continuum of care starting in the hospital. This position also provides:

• Access to Labor and Delivery floor for pre and postpartum education
• Ability to grow and develop the program by continuing to foster relationships with OB/GYNs, and multiple surgeons
• Access to newest technology to provide highest quality of care
• Opportunities to provide education to hospital staff regarding pelvic rehab

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Florida
• Certification as a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist preferred
• Previous Pelvic Floor experience required
